Club Tournament

Backwell Tennis Club's Annual Tournament is open to all members and junior members of the club, starting in June and culminating with finals being played in September.

We're delighted to share details of this year's club tournament. This year, finals will take place on the  Sunday 14th September  and we are running an American Doubles Tournament on  Saturday 13th September.

The American Doubles Tournament last year was a fun and sociable event as well as being competitive and saw a variety of levels coming together and enjoying an afternoon of tennis.  The American Doubles Tournament will include handicaps to ensure everyone has a chance to compete on a level playing field.  Partners will be rotated throughout this tournament so you should enter the tournament as an individual player.

Events for 2025

Open events for adults will include:

  • Open Singles (Women & Men)
  • Open Doubles (Women & Men)
  • Open Mixed Doubles.

Plate competitions will be held for these events only where the number of entries warrants this.

All junior age level events (singles and doubles) will run as in previous years.

However, to ensure everyone who wants to can participate in a competition, we will instead run an American Doubles Tournament on finals weekend which will include handicaps to ensure everyone has a chance to compete on a level playing field.

Partners will be rotated throughout this tournament so you should enter the tournament as an individual player.

All junior age level events (singles and doubles) will run as in previous years.
