Our Club - Jul/Aug 2024
Summer holidays are almost over and isn’t it great to have some sunshine to enjoy our newly re-surfaced courts 1 & 2! Already in use and looking great, the courts will be put through their paces on our Club/Finals weekend which is fast approaching (14/15 Sept) - this promises to be a great event combining tennis with lots of time to chat. We hope to see you there!

Resurfacing Courts 1&2
Hotly anticipated, we are really pleased with our newly re-surfaced courts 1 & 2. Back in November 2023, you voted on what surface you wanted and astro-turf was your hot favourite. Playable in all weathers, kinder on the limbs and looking absolutely fabulous!!
Costing just under £50k, these courts are a significant investment and we would love to see them utilised as much as possible. We hope you enjoy them.
A big thank you to John Tate who masterminded the project with our contractors Chiltern Sports. Thanks also to the band of helpers who took time on Friday night to shift the very large bag of sand (essential for court maintenance!) into our shed - thank you Karim, Malcolm, Chris, Dave, Simon, Tom, John and Richard!

End of the Summer League
To celebrate the end of summer league, the ladies league players hosted an Afternoon Tea at the club house in aid of Breast Cancer Now.
We celebrated pink in every shade, enjoyed each others’ company, and everyone brought either savoury or sweet - most of which was devoured! We are very proud to have raised £165 for this very worthy cause.
A big thank you to Zoe and Pippa for organising the tea and for all their hard work through the season.
And in terms of results...
Congratulations to North Somerset A Ladies team who came 2nd in their division and are promoted to division 2 for next year. Sadly after a tough season, North Somerset B ladies have been relegated to division 5. Both Avon ladies teams managed to secure their positions in their divisions.
Congratulations to Avon Mens 1st team who finished 2nd in their division so will be promoted to division 2 next year. Sadly Avon Mens 2nd team and the 3 North Somerset Mens teams have been relegated.
Thank you to all those that played league during the summer, we hope those new to league had fun and we look forward to Winter League starting in October!! Please let the captains know if you are interested
summer holiday camps & autumn coaching
Our coaching team ran three weeks of camps over the summer holidays. Although numbers were lower than the previous two years, the camps were really well supported and delivered sessions to over 150 children during the three weeks, 40 of those children being new to the club.
In addition, Tom Fowler's 'Adult holiday camps' were really well supported on Wednesday evening with all 12 places booked out for the 3 sessions.
The new term starts back from Monday 2 September and Ben and the team look forward to seeing all those in coaching back on court soon. If you’re not currently in coaching but fancy a go, please contact our Head Coach & Tennis Manager Ben Tilling at
